CALL FOR DEPUTY EDITOR - Brazilian Journal of Motor Behavior
To cope with the growing number of submissions, improve the quality of the review process, and improve the BJMB’s mission and visibility, we are currently inviting applications for one Deputy Editor for the BJMB.
The duties of the BJMB Deputy Editor include the following tasks:
- work collaboratively and cohesively with the Editor-in-Chief to shape the direction of BJMB
- divide with the Editor-in-Chief the editorial duties essential to the peer-review and publication process, maintaining a timely peer review process
- leading outreach and growth initiatives that will improve the quality of submissions
- overseeing the publication's operations and policies
- informing the authors about the final decision of a submitted article
Applicants should provide a short (1 page) list of publications (highlighting their research impact, citations, and metrics in the motor behavior field) over the last five years and a one-page covering letter that addresses their suitability for the role based on the following selection criteria:
- A doctoral-level qualification (or the equivalent) in the motor behavior area
- Editorial and peer review experience
- Experience with publications in peer-reviewed journals in the motor behavior area
- Current involvement in research and research supervision in the motor behavior area
- Participation/membership in the SOCIBRACOM for at least 4 years
- A brief description of strategic initiatives that could be implemented as Deputy Editor to improve the BJMB
The position starts on December 1st, 2025, with an initial term of four years. The SOCIBRACOM Executive Council can substitute the Deputy Editor at any time, depending on the Deputy Editor’s performance.
